THE AUTHOR

Richard V. Wing Jr. was born and raised as the son of an Air Force family and spent his teenage years, education, and professional career in California before retiring to Washington State. Married for more than 55 years, he and his wife have adult sons and six grandchildren. His fascination with Pacific Northwest history led him to become a certified interpreter guide and volunteer as a historical reenactor at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, where he shares stories about the Hudson’s Bay Company and the origins of PiP with visitors. He relates that PiP has taught us many lessons and values of hope, resilience, community care, love and legacy. “PiP The Old Apple Tree of Apple Tree Park” is his first book.
